Nope, Not Today Gorlin Syndrome

Today, when I went in for my quarterly skin cancer (Gorlin Syndrome) surgery, my Dermatology Surgeon and his Resident Doctor both carefully examined my skin from head to toe.
They said, “We got nothing.” No skin cancer to remove. Nothing to biopsy. No suspicious lesions to watch until next quarter. This never, ever happened in my first 3 decades of quarterly surgeries with this “hereditary disease that has no cure.”
But this is the 3rd time zero has happened in my past 9 quarterly surgery appointments!!! (That’s a much better batting average than any of the Red Sox currently have, btw.)
This is the ability of Integrative Wellness to empower the human mind/body/spirit to heal itself.
You see, it’s not just the cancer that’s being healed. That’s literally only the surface-level symptom. It’s also the chronic condition (Gorlin Syndrome) inside my body that manifests itself by continuously producing skin cancers (I’ve had over 500 removed). And the PTSD in my brain that contributes the stress/anxiety that inflames the chronic condition to produce the skin cancers in my body. That’s literally the definition of whole person healing – going beyond the symptom to treat the root cause and promote healing from within.
Outside of the day I got married and the day our daughter was born, there is nothing, not one single thing, that compares to the joy, ecstasy and elation I feel when told “we don’t see any cancer on your body today.
” SAY WHAT?!?!?”
For 30+ years, my mind didn’t even know zero was a possibility. The past 3 years, my mind has shown me it’s not only possible, it’s happening repeatedly.
Stress and anxiety are running rampant in our society these days.
80% of doctor appointments are stress-related.
About 60% of people in the U.S. will get a chronic condition.
And roughly 40% will get cancer.
So if stress or anxiety feels like it’s impacting your health more than you’d like, you probably either have a chronic condition/cancer or it’s on the way. The good news is, you can do something about it.
In the meantime, if you see some guy zipping across the sky this week -- or anytime in the
next 3 months for that matter -- not to worry, that’s just me, flying high. No drugs. No catapult. No jetpack on my back. Just me in my ebullient flight pattern. Air traffic controllers, take note.
